More than anything, I want to help you create engaging content for your audience and help you share what you love with the world!

Why did I create this website?

After my second child was born, I decided to take a very short break from teaching. For over ten years, I had taught various levels of English, communications, and a special class that allowed students to engage in real world projects that solved problems in their community. It was my world. Those were my people. To say that I miss teaching and inspiring my students is an understatement. However, I knew that there had to be something more.

It was during this time that I stumbled across the incredible world of blogging. I started signing up for everything I could. I watched webinars and downloaded more freebies than I care to admit. I have also spent money on courses to help me out with a few things. And that is when it hit me…

I wanted to teach others how to…TEACH!

My Experience!

Where do I even start? I grew up in a diverse town in northwest Louisiana. (Side-note: If I am filming live and super tired, you will hear a different accent.) All I ever wanted to do was write. I wrote in my diary, I wrote songs, I wrote letters to friends, and I loved writing stories.

I was very fortunate. Although we were on the poorer side of life, I was blessed with a loving family who encouraged me to do my best. I was also blessed with the ability to do well in academics. This allowed me to become the first person to go to college in my immediate family.

While in college, I majored in COMMUNICATIONS. While most people try to get in front of the camera, I found that the magic happened before and after the cameras were rolling. While there is a definite need for pre-production, I found myself spending endless hours in an editing bay as I put on the final touches of a project during post-production.

So, how did I become a high school teacher?
To make a long story short, I discovered my love of teaching during my last year of college. A school needed my expertise during a low time in my career (no one was hiring), and so I thought that I would give it a chance. I didn’t think I would love it like I do.

Teaching high school definitely has its struggles, however, my students make it worth it. Over the past decade, I have learned so much about myself and how important it is to keep growing and learning.

  • Marketing & Promotions Producer for various television stations and network affiliates.
  • Editing experience on several different platforms ranging in levels from beginner to advanced
  • Content Coordinator/Creator for several local, national, and even a few international companies
  • High school teacher for over a decade and still going! (I even taught during the pandemic. This alone should count as 20 years of teaching experience.)

Some of my favorite things…

  • NKOTB…I’m a Blockhead! My taste in music is all over the place. From Loretta Lynn to Taylor Swift to Broadway tunes, I jam out to almost anything.
  • I love to travel. If I can attend a concert and visit a new place, I’m super happy!
  • Building things! Over the past few years, my collection of power tools has been growing.
  • The Beach. When I grow up, I want to live in a tiny home and explore all the beaches.
  • Spending time with family and traveling to new and old favorite places is one of my favorite pastimes.
